My Work

In my small workshop, unique table and floor lamps are created from driftwood. Every piece of wood carries its own story – shaped by water, wind, and time. For me, these natural traces are what make it so fascinating. I see it as my mission to respect the organic form and give it a new purpose without losing its original character.

Some pieces of driftwood are so expressive in their natural state that I deliberately leave them almost untouched. They are carefully cleaned and, depending on their texture, finished with clear varnish or left entirely natural. In these cases, nature remains the true designer.

Other pieces invite further creative thought. On the lathe, I transform them into imaginative, organic shapes that give the wood a new silhouette while still honoring its origin. Every step of the process is done by hand, with a deep intuition for the material.

In my workshop, I work with tools such as a lathe, router, drill press, and table saw. While these machines support the process, the craftsman’s touch remains the deciding factor. No two pieces of wood react the same way – and that is exactly what makes every work a true original.

The lamp bases are always crafted separately from selected driftwood logs. They are turned, routed, and precisely finished until the shape and proportions feel harmonious. Here, too, every piece remains unique – crafted with patience, care, and respect for the natural material.

When it comes to surface treatment, I decide on a case-by-case basis: lacquered, oiled, waxed, or completely natural. The goal is always to highlight the wood’s structure and grain, emphasizing its natural radiance.

After the handcrafted shaping, the lamps are fitted with CE-certified electronics. Safety and quality are a matter of course for me. Each lamp should not only be aesthetically pleasing but also reliable and durable.

The lampshade is intentionally not the main focus of my work. My focus lies on the body and the base – the handcrafted core. I believe that customers should choose a lampshade that best fits their personal interior style.

Therefore, the shades are easily replaceable with just a few steps. This allows room for individuality while the handcrafted driftwood piece retains its unique character.

From the raw driftwood log to the turned components, everything is made with love and by hand. In this way, a natural material shaped by water is transformed into a piece of craftsmanship that brings warmth, naturalness, and character into any room.
