About Me
I am an expat from Germany and have been living in the Veneto region of Italy for several years now—together with my girlfriend, who is a local. Here, by the Adriatic Sea, I haven't just found a home; I’ve also discovered my love for nature, the sea, and my craft: creating handcrafted, one-of-a-kind pieces from driftwood.
I was born by the North Sea. No matter where I’ve lived, the connection to the ocean has always been there. Whenever I was away from the coast, the longing for it grew. You could say the sea is in my blood: my grandfather was a passionate sailor, my mother worked on cruise ships, and my father served in the navy. For me, the sea represents heritage, memory, and inspiration all at once.
It was here on the Adriatic coast that I discovered my passion for wood, and especially for driftwood. Every piece of wood has already been on a journey—shaped by the sea, the wind, and the waves. That is exactly what makes driftwood so special to me. In my studio in Veneto, I transform these finds by hand into driftwood lamps and sustainable design objects—each piece a true original.
Together with my dog, Schlotti, I regularly roam the Adriatic beaches to collect new driftwood. These walks provide more than just materials for my work; they are moments of peace and connection with nature. My driftwood products stand for sustainable design, upcycling, and a conscious approach to natural resources.
My work connects my North Sea roots with my current life by the Adriatic. It is a bridge between the sea and craftsmanship, between natural materials and design, between past and present—and you can feel that in every single handmade piece.
